Sean Patrick Flanery Talks Boondock Saints II, Boondock Comic, Fonda and Fighting by Troy Rogers of The Dead Bolt
Although Sean Patrick Flanery has a long list of acting credits to his name in film and TV, from The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Powder, Suicide Kings, Stargate SG-1, C.S.I., Masters of Horror, and his six season run on the TV adaptation of The Dead Zone, it was the 1999 role of butt kicking Irish twin brother, Connor McManus in Boondock Saints that fans have been talking about for a decade.
After years of rumor and speculation that Boondock Saints director Troy Duffy would eventually reunite Flanery with actor Norman Reedus who plays Connor’s brother, Murphy McManus, for a sequel to Boondock Saints, the long and winding road to Boondock Saints II will soon be here when Sean Patrick Flanery is back to kick more hail-of-gunfire butt in Boston in Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day.

Who would have thought we’d see a sequel to The Boondock Saints? First of all, the film didn’t have much of a theatrical run and even after it attained cult status via DVD, the hope to make a second was an on again, off again concept. Well, the time has come. The film is complete and we’re less than two months away from its release.
Its obvious there are tons of fans out there psyched about seeing the McManus brothers back in action in The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, but it’s Conner McManus himself, Sean Patrick Flanery, that is especially thrilled about the October 30th release. Yes, in Hollywood when you have a film as successful as The Boondock Saints, a sequel is likely in the future, but All Saints Day is far from a mere effort to capitalize on the success of the original film. It’s particularly special for the fans and the cast as well. Eleven years later, there’s nothing Sean would rather do than bring back Conner McManus.

IGN premiers the trailer for Troy Duffy’s The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, which will be released by Sony’s Stage 6 Films in limited theaters on October 30th.
The film is the continuation of Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of fraternal twins, the MacManus brothers (Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery). The two have been in deep hiding in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former lives or modern technologies. When word comes that a priest has been killed by sinister forces in the tough underworld of Boston, they return to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those who must now suffer the consequences, with a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins) and a sexy FBI operative (Julie Benz) hot on their trail!
A crime is made all the more horrible when the least likely suspect is accused, and a woman must put aside her grief to aid police before justice is lost forever. “Citizen Jane,” a Hallmark Channel Original Movie premieres Saturday, September 12 (9/8c).
The movie will air at 9 p.m. Sept. 12 on Hallmark, available at Comcast’s upper-digital-tier of premiere channels. The DVD is expected in video stores around Thanksgiving. The book is being reissued (Morgan James, $17.95, 212 pages) to coincide with the airing of the movie.
